Orchestra Concert

Northview Orchestra went out with a bang last week, performing their final concert on April 26 at the NV Performing Arts Center. The musical team was even accompanied by some unexpected staff guests and the local sports station, BCSN.

“Orchestra has been giving the people of Sylvania extraordinary musical talent this past year, and on Wednesday they once again proved that they can really show emotions through music,” senior Kaitlyn Soldner said.

NV History teacher Ian Malcolm hosted the event, giving play by play of the songs they were performing and the meaning behind them. He made a point in the beginning that this was the seniors last concert ever, so it was going to be something to remember.

They started off with a piece from Disney’s Moana, making their way through popular soundtracks such as Jurassic World, but also not forgetting the classics.

Although the music brought everyone on an emotional rollercoaster, the senior orchestra members surprised their teacher, Pamela Thiel, with a video explaining all the reasons they loved her as a person and as a teacher, a guaranteed tearjerker.

“We made memories this year and I had so much fun being able to be a part of this amazing group of people. I love every one of them and we are going to miss the seniors a lot next year,” junior Jayden Bolden said.

Even though the concert season is over, the friendships made and the happiness that it brought to people’s lives remains.
