Three of NV’s brightest MedTech students are moving on to the HOSA National Leadership Conference this summer in Dallas, TX.
Juniors Mary Castor and Kevin Archambault and senior Savannah Sewell-Conley all qualified.
Castor and Archambault received third place in the Medical Innovation event and Sewell-Conley received second place in the Veterinary Science Health Professions event.
“It was a huge shock to both of us and I can’t believe our project was selected in the top three,” Castor said.
The Medical Innovation event allows students to create a medical device to make patients’ lives just a little bit easier. Castor and Archambault had the idea to create a watch that records vital signs and if anything is wrong, the device will let the healthcare worker/patient know immediately.
Sewell-Conley had the task of creating a presentation about a career in the veterinary field.
Over 10,000 HOSA members will attend the conference in June.
