Warrington benefit raises over $20,000

Some students may remember math teacher Marsha Warrington who just retired last year. “She was a great teacher and a wonderful friend,” math teacher Bridget Kwiatkowski said. “She should be going on cruises. She taught here for 30 years and many of students had her.”

Unfortunately, Mrs. Warrington’s husband Ted Warrington is in need of some support. Mr. Warrington was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer. Both Mr. and Mrs. Warrington have helped organize many benefits and found themselves at a benefit recently for Mr. Warrington.

Mr. Warrington is very involved with the Sylvania Moose Lodge, which is where the benefit was held for him September 27 between 1 – 6pm.

There were a variety of events such as a 50/50 raffle, a collection basket, a silent auction with some NV spirit gear, and also spaghetti dinners.

Math teacher Christina Comparato collected any items students wished to donate and helped out with the event. “I want to give back for everything they have done,” said Ms. Comparato. “We’re trying to raise money for the cancer cost and we need all the help we can get.”

Ticket price for an adult was $10 and kids were $5, in the end the Moose Lodge was able to raise $21,000 to assist the Warringtons with various medical bills, according to Mrs. Warrington.
