What’s ARK?

“It’s the little things that count,” that is the official slogan for the new Acts of Random Kindness Club, or ARK for short. Senior Lauren Norden formed the club with one goal: to bring happiness to Northview.

At the beginning of this school year she started right away with getting people interested and planning activities. One of her duties was to elect officers. ARK’s vice president is senior Maya Huffman, its treasurer is junior Ananya Kodali, and its publicist is senior Kirsten Peer.

Huffman has many goals as vice president. “I hope that the club will make NV a happier place to be. I know that sometimes coming to school can be a struggle and can make you feel down. By making an effort to spread kindness to others, we can make everyone happier.”

Currently, the club is working hard on creating Halloween Grams to sell to students at the end of October. Along with that, they are also planning other activities such as Operation Christmas Child, Cuties for Cuties, Reverse Prank Calls, a Kleenex drive for teachers, and Senior send-a-ways.

“I’m excited about being able to spread happiness to Northview in just an everyday setting,” Norden said. “I’m so glad that we have members that also believe that kindness is an important aspect of life and that it should be incorporated into our school.”

If you would like to join ARK, the meetings are after school  every other Tuesday in room A2 (Nowak).
