NV Dance Team brings in choreographer

The Dance Team is currently not in season, but is already preparing for performances and competitions up ahead.

The Dance Team is having Cassie Dzienny come in to choreograph their jazz dance on October 24 and 25. Dzienny has a background in teaching and choreography. She is originally from Toledo, where she opened her own company, Company C, which is now owned by Jessica Brutlag.

Her choreography and dancing have been recognized at nearly every dance convention and competition nationwide. Dzienny has many amazing dance credits, such as dancing with the Radio City Rockettes, and has been featured in commercials for Nike, Macy’s, L’Oreal, Xbox, and many more.

Most recently, she has worked for the Nickelodeon series “Fred,”  “Supah Ninjas,” and “Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn.” On top of all this, she just choreographed for The Smosh Movie distributed by 20th Century Fox and Lionsgate that has been shown internationally. Dzienny now lives in Los Angeles where she continues her dancing and choreography.

“I am looking forward to what Cassie can bring us from all of her dance background, and also for all the new experience the team will get,” senior Sammi Klinger said.

The Dance Team is really looking forward to having such an amazing and talented choreographer come in from L.A. and teach them their jazz dance, according to Klinger.

“I am so excited to get back to my hometown to work with the Northview Dance Team. I plan to push them to work on strength, stamina, precision and teamwork. And hopefully we will also have fun,” Dzienny said.
