The Dive team has had a very good history. Members of the team have gone all the way to the state competition and placed in the top three in recent years.

Divers have various difficulties and positions that they compete in for each dive. Sophomore Baylie Horvath is on Northview’s Dive Team. There are 5 different categories including forward, backward, reverse, inward, and twist. There is also different difficulty rankings for each dive. “It took me awhile to memorize the numbers each dive was, but since I’ve been diving for so long it got a lot easier,” sophomore Baylie Horvath said.

Diving is much harder than it looks. Members of the team have two and half hour practices every day and when season comes their meets are once a week. “Some dives are much harder than others, like a front flip is easier than an inward flip, so they are scored differently,” Horvath said.

Diving season will start November 6 with the start of the winter sports season.
