Every year in April the Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes local teachers, counselors, faculty, and administrators that are in the Sylvania Schools District.

This year 12 teachers were chosen. These teachers were selected for their outstanding service to their school and students. One teacher from each school in the district was chosen, they are: Jennifer Thompson, Central Trail; Andrea Hoffman, Highland; Pamela Renter, Hill View; Tina Grabarczyk, Maplewood; Renee Stack, Stranahan; Pam Bennett, Sylvan; Brittany Wilson, Whiteford; Julie Young, Arbor Hills; Denise DiGuglielmo, McCord; Brian Helminiak, Timberstone; Phil Smith, Northview; and Eugene Burgess, Southview.

These honorable teachers will be recognized on April 5 at the Sylvania Country Club at the monthly chamber luncheon.

“The key is caring,” Math teacher Mr.Smith said. He elaborated on this quote and also said that if everyone cares then there will be success, but if one person doesn’t care then there will be no success.
