For at least a year, several Sylvania Schools administrators have driven former Northview Principal Larry Morrison to and from sporting events. Because he is no longer able to drive at night, Mr. Morrison relies on rides from Principal Steve Swaggerty, former Sylvania Schools Board of Education member Dave Spiess, former McCord and Southview teacher Jeff Bunker, former basketball coach Richard Timm, Highland teacher Shelly Schultz-Irwin, and Athletic Director Chris Irwin.
Along with being the NV principal in the 1990s, Mr. Morrison was also a principal at Arbor Hills and he participated in the Northern Lakes League as a commissioner for several schools such as NV, Southview, Springfield, and Perrysburg.
Mr. Morrison attends many events and constantly supports the NV Athletic Boosters. “I see him at a good handful of events,” Mr. Swaggerty said. Mr. Morrison even recently went to the Reverse Raffle.
“He’ll just send me a text whenever he wants to go and I’ll take him,” Mr. Swaggerty said. Because of their help, Mr. Morrison is able to continuously attend games and offer his support.
