“One Dress, One Month” which is officially titled “One Dress, One Shirt, One Month” is an event for the month of April in which participants work to raise awareness of sex trafficking by wearing the same dress the entire month. Several senior girls dedicated themselves to a dress for the last month.

“Human trafficking is extremely popular here in our Toledo area,” senior Morgan Vince said. Each girl who participates has to wear one dress for one whole month. This sparks conversation, with people asking “didn’t you wear that dress yesterday and the day before?”

That is the purpose of this event, to make conversation and to open people’s minds about how serious of an issue human trafficking is.

Also, girls that participated were hoping to raise money for the Daughter Project, which is a local shelter for victims of human trafficking.

“I have not collected any money or donations this year. It was supposed to happen during school but we couldn’t find time to put it together, but in previous years I have collected many donations for the Daughter Project here in Toledo,” senior Maddie Hadeed said.

Senior girls who dedicated the month of April to one dress and one cause were Kayleigh McHugh, Krysten Wodarski, Kristin Osinski, Lindsay Douglas, Caitlin Beach, Vince, and Hadeed.
