Steve Wozniak speaks at The University of Toledo

Steve Wozniak is an American inventor, electronics engineer, and computer programmer who co-founded Apple Computer. He was recently a part of the Distinguished Lecture Series at the University of Toledo. On February 1, at 7 p.m. in the Savage Arena, Wozniak gave a lecture that many Northview students were able to attend.

Wozniak spoke on Apple’s intention to focus on education. He wants Mac’s to be in every school.

“I attended because I have always had a passion for technology and it was an exciting experience to see a successful technology person,” senior Blake Oates said. “It was much better than I expected it to be.”

Wozniak also gave some insight on how to start up a company. He informed the audience that to create a strong foundation you must search for a partner who has a different set of strengths and skills in order to create the best combination.

He also said that businesses must create their prototypes and take their product as far as possible with the resources available before searching for investors.

“Listening to Steve Wozniak was very inspirational knowing that he revolutionized the world we live in today,” senior Owen Cappellini said. “He talked about some of the successes and failures that he had on the road to success.”
