Seniors attend graduation rehearsal

On the morning of May 28, the class of 2015 marched into the Stranahan Theater to the sound of Pomp and Circumstance, dressed in shorts and t-shirts instead of their caps and gowns.

This year’s graduating seniors participated in the annual graduation rehearsal about a week prior to the real graduation date. The practice is a full rehearsal with performances by the orchestra and the senior choir members.

The orchestra performs opening and closing songs for the ceremony as well as the Star-Spangled Banner.

The senior choir members performed an A Cappella rendition of Where We Left Off by O. A. R.

“It was really great to get the opportunity to perform one last time with my senior choir members,” senior Noah Froelich said. “We are all really close and the lyrics fit our mood of the ceremony really well.”

Although speeches that will be given by Sylvania School Board Member Julie Hoffman and Superintendent Brad Rieger were not practiced, the order of speeches was reviewed.

Following the speeches, the administration practiced reading the full name of each student.

“You know it’s official when middle names are being used,” junior orchestra member Mitch Lyons said.

After rehearsal, the students took buses back to Northview for a pizza lunch organized by the senior parents. A slideshow of baby pictures was also created for the students to watch as they ate lunch.

The class of 2015 graduates on June 7 at 1 P.M. in the Stranahan Theater.
