Preparations for Class Olympics begin

Preparations for Class Olympics begin

The second annual Class Olympics will be held on May 22 but on May 6, class officers held a meeting to discuss and make decisions about the event. Each class will have their own specific color to wear on the day of the event. Seniors are black, juniors are white, sophomores are gold, and freshman are blue. Class Olympics provides an opportunity for fun, friendly competition between classes. Currently, the juniors are in the lead with 46 points. The seniors are in second with 34 points followed by the sophomores who have 28 points. The freshman class is in last place with only 12 points. On the day of the event, all of the students will meet in the gym for pre-game festivities to get pumped up for the games. They will then separate into their own activities to compete for points for their class. The class that wins each event gets four points, second place gets three points, third place gets two points, and last place gets one point. There will be many activities held on the day ranging from a three point shootout to blindfolded pictionary. Each student will participate in one event and each homeroom teacher will host an event. At the end of the activities, a lip sync competition will be held with major points on the line. It can be as few as one person or as many as the whole class performing. Last year in the lip sync contest, the seniors came out with the win with their performance of the final scene from Pitch Perfect. This led to them winning the first ever Class Olympics. However, their class is gone so the competition is up in the air. Other points that will be awarded will be for most spirited class and class with the most service hours.
