NHS delivers love

Carnation sales came to a successful end on February 5 with a total of 229 carnations sold. The National Honors Society started selling them on February 1 during lunch periods. The students could also include a personalized card with their carnation.

“I enjoyed the sales mostly because I was able to deliver the carnations to everyone. Not everyone gets to disrupt class to spread some Valentine’s Day love. It made me feel great to be able to do that, even though putting the carnations together with the cards took hours,” senior Ben Moyer said.

Their goal was around 500, but their selling days were shortened due to the excessive amount of snow days, according to NHS leader Darla Omey.

“Even though the days were shortened, the amount they sold in those days were great,” Omey said.

The flowers were delivered to students on Valentine’s Day, and as always they were a big hit.
