Engineering explores with liquid nitrogren

Engineering students had the opportunity to see the fun and amazing effects of liquid nitrogen.

Thanks to engineering teacher Ryan Reed; Linde, a liquid nitrogen manufacturer, brought liquid nitrogen to do demos for the engineering students throughout the day on August 26.

The new Honors STEM class was also able to join in for a period of scientific exploration. Both Engineering and STEM students enjoyed experimenting and freezing many things such as flowers and ice cream. Many freezable treats were available to freeze with the liquid nitrogen.

“Experimenting with the liquid nitrogen was a very interesting and different experience. My favorite was when we poured the liquid nitrogen into the coke bottle and it exploded from the changing of liquid to gas pressure,” sophomore engineering student Jenna Kill said.
