BP holds dinner for top students

It is a great achievement to finish in the top two percent of one’s class and a special dinner was held to commemorate those who were able to grab the top spots.

British Petroleum, or BP, hosted a special dinner for these top students along with special guest speakers to inspire the students who were invited. This year Congressman Bob Latta spoke along with several officials from BP, according to Principal Steven Swaggerty.

“I would estimate that about 20 to 25 schools were in attendance,” Mr. Swaggerty said.

Representing Northview were seniors Geeta Rao, Emily Lui, Sejal Shah, Emma Eding, Celine Schreidah, and Taylor Messenger, according to Mr. Swaggerty.

“I was very honored to be invited to the dinner especially since the area’s top students were all there. I think it’s wonderful that BP chooses to recognize our academic excellence as a community,” Schreidah said.

The event was held on April 16 at the Hilton Gardens in Levis Commons and its purpose was to serve as a community outreach from BP to the community.

“I’m very proud of all our students who earn an NV degree, its no easy task, but finishing in the top two percent is an extra special achievement and deserves a reward,” Mr. Swaggerty said.
